Ending a Trial
You have the option to end a patient trial at your discretion - this will often happen during or just after an appointment.
To end a trial, either select the option from within a Follow Up Call, or select “More” from the Actions Menu and choose “End Trial”. You will then receive a prompt to summarize the whether the trial was successful, with 3 options to choose from:
- Yes, and patient is proceeding to perm
This option requires you to describe the patient improvements and any other comments
- Yes, but patient is not proceeding to perm
This option requires you to give a reason the patient will not be proceeding to perm
- No
This option moves the patient to the Unsuccessful Trials program, their profile will remain accessible but no alerts will be created for them
The End of Trial Summary will then be created, and an alert sent to the other team members letting them know that the patient’s trial has ended. The other team members will also be able to review the Summary by clicking on their Timeline entry for it.
End of Trial Summaries
The Summary can be found on the patient's timeline and more directly so by using the filter atop the timeline:
The End of Trial Summary contains a bar graph that compares pain scores at baseline to scores for the best pain relief achieved during the trial, as well as any comments previously entered. This pdf can be downloaded and shared with the patient’s providers by clicking on it and clicking "Download Image":
